How old do you have to be to rent a Waverunner?

A.

You must be 18 to rent a Waverunner, and up to 3 persons per ski.

Can I bring my phone, camera or anything that should not get wet with me on the tour? 

A.

The glove box on the Waverunners are water resistant. Having said that, we have had a number of phones and cameras meet their end on our tours. If it should not get wet, we recommend leaving it in the box on the dock.

Is there some place safe to keep my stuff while we are out on a tour? 

A.

There is large locking cabinet on the dock that you may leave your belongings in while we are out.

Is it too cold out to go on a Jet Ski tour? 

A.

We have waterproof tops with neoprene closures on the wrists and neck that make it much more comfortable on cooler days or when the water is still cold.

Do I need a Boaters Safety License? 

A.

Florida Law requires that to drive any motorized water vehicle, if the driver was born on or after January 1, 1988 he or she must have a  Boating Safety Education ID Card. If you do not have a card you can get one  here. We can issue a temporary card at dockside, but you must allow an additional 30 minutes for instruction and to take a test.  Florida Law requires that drivers must be at least 16 years old to operate a Waverunner.

How old do I have to be to go on a tour? 

A.

To drive one of our Jet Skis you must be at least 16. To ride as a passenger you have to be at least 8 years old.

How many people can I bring with me?

A.

We have 5 waverunners and each can seat 3 persons. The only restriction is that there is a 400lb weight limit per machine.

 How far are you from Jacksonville? 

A.

That depends on where you are coming from in Jacksonville. We are 30 minutes from the Jacksonville airport and 45 minutes from downtown Jacksonville.

How far are you from the Omni Plantation?  

A.

It shouldn’t take you more than 20 minutes to drive from the Omni to the dock with normal traffic.

How far are you from the Ritz Carlton?

It shouldn’t take you more than 15 minutes to drive from the Ritz to the dock with normal traffic.

What should I expect from my guided tour? 

A.

Each guided tour begins with safety instructions from your friendly, expert guide, who will provide you with the knowledge and confidence to help you get the most out of your island waverunner experience. Once you are comfortable with riding your jet ski, you will follow your guide on your personal jet ski, exploring the waters surrounding Amelia and Cumberland Islands.

During your Waverunner tour, you can expect to see local marine life as well as experience  breathtaking views of wild horses on Cumberland. While cruising around the island, your guide will make stops at various points of interest, such as Old Town and Pippi Longstocking’s house, Historic Fort Clinch and Dungeness Mansion.

What should I bring with me?   

A.

Sunglasses with some sort of strap on them, clothes that can get wet or a bathing suit, sunblock and shoes that can get wet (flip flops work great). If you do bring a waterproof camera, make sure it has a good strap or lanyard.
